The right forex broker keeps your money safe, fills your orders at fair prices and lets you withdraw without trouble. A big bonus or a low minimum deposit means nothing if the broker fails on these basics. Use this guide and the table above to check any broker in a few minutes.
What we check in every forex broker review
Regulation & licence
Who licenses the broker, in which country, and whether client money is kept in segregated accounts.
Trading costs
Spreads on major pairs, commission per lot, swap rates and any hidden inactivity or withdrawal fees.
Deposits & withdrawals
Payment methods, minimum deposit, processing time and real user reports on getting money out.
Platforms & tools
MT4, MT5, cTrader or web platform, mobile apps, execution speed and copy or social trading.
Bonus terms
Lot targets, time limits and withdrawal rules behind every no deposit or deposit bonus.
Support & reputation
Live chat quality, local language support and how the broker handles complaints.
5 steps to pick the right broker
Check the licence number on the regulator's own website, not just the broker's.
Compare spreads and fees on the pairs you actually trade.
Open a demo account to test the platform and execution.
Start with a small deposit and make a test withdrawal.
Only then add more funds or claim a bonus — and read its terms first.

Many brokers in our list give an address at a shared office in Kingstown, St. Vincent. That is a company registration, not a forex licence — the SVG FSA does not license forex brokers.
Green flags
Licence you can verify on the regulator's site
Segregated client funds and negative balance protection
Clear fees and fast, free withdrawals
Red flags
No licence, or only a company registration number
Guaranteed profits or pushy "account managers"
Withdrawal delays, fees or new conditions
Which broker type fits you?
BeginnerPick a regulated broker with a demo account and low minimum deposit. Try a no deposit bonus first.
Active traderLook for raw spreads, low commission and forex rebates.
Copy traderChoose a broker with built-in social trading and transparent statistics, then test it risk-free with a forex no deposit bonus.
Look for the licence number in the website footer, then search that number on the regulator's own public register, such as the FCA register in the UK, ASIC Connect in Australia or the CySEC entity list. The company name, domain and licence must all match.
Which forex regulators are the strongest?
Top-tier regulators include the UK FCA, Australia's ASIC, Cyprus CySEC (EU rules), Switzerland's FINMA and the US CFTC/NFA. They enforce segregated client funds, capital requirements and complaint handling. Offshore registrations give far less protection.
Is a broker with a big deposit bonus safe?
Not automatically. Large bonuses are often used by unregulated brokers to attract deposits. Check regulation first and read the bonus volume and withdrawal rules before accepting any offer.
What does 'Licence listed' mean in the table?
It means the broker names a recognised regulator or licence number. It is a starting point, not proof — always confirm the licence on the regulator's website before you deposit.
How much money do I need to open a forex account?
Many brokers accept deposits from $5 to $100, and some offer a no deposit bonus so you can start with no money. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
What are the main red flags of a forex scam broker?
No verifiable licence, pressure from 'account managers', guaranteed profits, withdrawal fees or delays, and a company address shared by dozens of other brokers. Check our forex scam brokers list before signing up.
